In addition there will be a raffle with a (reconditioned) laptop as the major prize and refreshments will be sold in aid of Romsey School’s ‘Romsey2Kenya’ project.

PLUS:

Romsey Town Mayor will be collected from the Town Hall at midday and taken for a ride around Romsey in a Twizy electric car before being taken to the Fair where the car will be on display to the public.

Riverford’s Organic Vegetable Farm at Norton is sponsoring a Children’s Seasonal Poetry Competition in the lead-up to Green Fair.   All the local primary schools are invited to submit poems (maximum 15 lines) written by the children on ‘green’ themes.   The best, as judged by Riverford, will go out with their vegetable box deliveries to approximately 1,300 throughout Hampshire.   The overall winner will be announced at the start of Green Fair, their poem will be read out and they will receive a personal Riverford gift voucher, plus their class will get a free farm visit.

The aim of the event is to showcase a range of traders, businesses and organisations who all operate locally, or use locally-sourced materials, promoting the green principles of sustainability, renewability and low-carbon living.

Romsey Green Fair is a unique opportunity to get new ideas, develop your creativity and meet people who really care about the environment, both locally and globally – all while having fun! So do come along and support this local venture which has established itself at the heart of the town.
